Very close to Lazy Lions Campground, a short drive or a 20 minute walk via The Barre Town Bike Pat, we have Municipal Tennis Courts, Pickle Ball Courts, a Skateboard park, basket ball courts, and a Dog park. The Barre Town Forest with hiking and mountain biking trails and public disc golf course is a 5 minute drive away.

The Vermont State Capitol--smallest in the USA. (Tours available Monday thru Saturday) Located in Montpelier (exit 8, Rt #89), built in 1857. Montpelier is a small, vibrant, walkable city with great dining, farmers markets, art galleries and fun quirky shops. About a 20 minute drive from Lazy Lions Campground.

Thunder Road Speedbowl, the "Nation's Site of Excitement"! 1/4 mile, paved, high bank stock car track. Late Model, Street Stock, Flying Tigers, Junk Yard Warriors Divisions and others. SRX Racing comes to Thunder Road this July. Founded, in part, in 1960 by "local boy" legendary broadcaster Ken Squier, who brought stock car racing to the Wild World of Sports in the 60's. Vermont Covered Bridges - Covered bridges symbolize small-town America. Something from the nineteenth century, picturesque and sentimental, "kissing bridges" or "courting bridges" recall a time when life was simpler. Explore many of the 107 covered bridges that dot the Vermont countryside.

Rock of Ages Granite Quarry - The World's largest "deep hole" quarry, just a short walk/drive from Lazy Lions Campground. See granite cut, polished, carved. Gift Shop/Visitors Center Open Monday - Saturday (Tours M-F only). Also, great walking and mountain biking trails around the old, abandoned quarries in the "Barre Town Forest"---Free Public Frisbee Golf course too.
