Middle Fork River Forest Preserve

At Middle Fork River Forest Preserve, we have hiking trails, a playground, and Waterfowl Management Area to explore. Plus, we're set in a beautiful part of Illinois, right near the University of Illinois, so you'll always find something new to discover.

Visit the Interpretive Center (housed in the Activity Center) While the Interpretive Center at Homer Lake Forest Preserve is undergoing renovations, we invite you to visit us at our temporary location at Middle Fork River Forest Preserve. Step inside for hands-on activities and meet our live resident animals while learning more about the natural world around you. Whether you're taking a break from the trail or looking to add something extra to your camping experience, the Interpretive Center is just a short walk from the campground.
