Sunrise Campground IA

We a great time, even though it was beastly hot … near 100°every day. We would definitely book again. Just a general RV camping observation … the RV camping community is not nearly as friendly as it used to be. I guess that has more to do with where society is in 2023.

Pretty campground, one set of managers are real nice but the other couple not so much

The facility is nice but the blonde gal who works there is rude and disrespectful. We would really have to be in a pinch to ever consider coming back based solely on our interactions with her.

Campground was ok. Great lake view. Host were very nice. Geese poop was everywhere and had to pick up piles b4 we could set up. It was gross. But over all ok place.

Campground very nice, quite, friendly, on a wonderful walking bike trail overlooking the lake, perfect relaxing spot before and after classes. Only suggestion is the showers be a bit warmer, they they are clean and roomy.

The park is ok very close to each other and we had a view of abandon building by our fire pit The restrooms were clean but had quite a few wasp nest by them.

Our stay at Sunrise Campground occurred during a chaotic day for Storm Lake, the first overnight city for RAGBRAI. The hosts led us to the campsite and were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The rest of our group, individual tent campers, had not yet arrived. I asked if it would be okay if more than 2 small tents were on each site or if there was room elsewhere if not. They indicated that we could set up wherever we'd fit, and they checked back with us later to make sure our needs were met. The restroom facilities were clean, but likely due to the high number of people using the showers, water was draining slowly. Hopefully this problem was easily resolved after our visit.

The park is in a great location. Facilities are reasonably clean and maintained. We reserved Site 610, FHU, for our 1993 no-slides 25-foot Aljo TT. The top of the sewer downpipe on this site and all surrounding sites was several inches above the bottom of our tank drain pipe. We would have had to stack at least four or more inches of lift blocks under our tires to make it usable. We have only run into this situation in one other park in more than 30 years of camping with this trailer. The sites in the front of the park have lower downpipes. We understand that taller connections keep rainwater from flooding the sewer system. Please add some advisory to the site descriptions on the height of the sewer downpipe so campers can be ready for the issue. We ended up using just the electric and water and dumped on the way out of the park.
