Cave Spring - The idyllic town of Cave Spring, Georgia welcomes you with soothing landscapes, historic buildings, and a number of inviting parks and open spaces. Spend a day in Cave Spring exploring Rolater Park's limestone cave, natural spring, wading pond, and 1.5-acre swimming lake. You can enjoy a picnic, play a game of volleyball, or head off to tour one of the city's historic sites like the Hearn Inn, originally build as a dormitory for the adjacent Manual Labor School. The school, established in 1838, still stands today. You can also visit the Georgia School for the Deaf and the 1851 Old Baptist Church - an important part of the town's historic landscape.

Rome Braves - There aren't many better ways to spend an afternoon than at the ballpark, rooting on local favorites and enjoying ballpark snacks. When you camp at Cedar Creek Park, you'll have easy access to Rome Braves baseball games at Rome's lovely State Mutual Stadium. Watch this Class A South Atlantic League affiliate of the Atlanta Braves wow you with their superb hitting and pitching. Kids will enjoy seeing Romey, the Braves mascot, and his side-kick Roxie, a pair of good-natured blue baseball fans. Braves games are also a great way to celebrate birthdays and other get-togethers.

Coosa River - With its varied terrain and glorious scenery, the Coosa River offers a wide range of activities, from hiking and biking to white-water rafting and gentle floats down quiet river stretches. Spend a day fishing, canoeing, and bird watching from the shore, or plan a horseback riding and rock climbing trip to Little River Canyon. The river basin includes many hiking trails such as the Pinhoti Trail, Appalachian Trail, and Silver Comet Trail, plus exciting white-water with the Class IV rapids in Little River Canyon. A number of state parks dot the upper basin area, offering open spaces for hiking, mountain biking, and fishing for our famous striped bass.

Lake Weiss - West of Rome, GA, just across the border in Alabama, you'll find the sparkling waters of Lake Weiss, a terrific place to spend a day with the family. With a number of full-service marinas, boat ramps, docks, and boat rental facilities (renting houseboats, ski boats, pontoon boats, and more), you'll have easy access to this stunning lake. Spend a day fishing for striped bass, large-mouth bass, small-mouth bass, or crappie on this lake that's known as the "Crappie Fishing Capital of the World." The lake and the Coosa River are also home to blue, channel, and flathead catfish, freshwater drum, smallmouth buffalo, suckers, bluegill, redbreast sunfish, and redear sunfish.
