The City of Storm Lake and Buena Vista County offer a wide variety of entertainment, shopping and recreational opportunities for our guests and citizens alike. Within walking distance from the Sunrise Campground is Sunrise Pointe Golf Course a newly renovated nine-hole golf course with pro shop.
Also within walking distance is King's Pointe Resort a waterpark resort with both indoor and outdoor waterparks. The outdoor waterpark is a great place to relax on a hot summer day!

History buffs can't miss a visit to the Buena Vista Historical Society Museum and Genealogical library located at 214 W. 5th Street in Downtown Storm Lake (call 712-732-4955 for more information or to check hours of operation). Visitors to Storm Lake won't want to miss the Harker House a historic 1875 French cottage home with 'widows walk' and open porches. The home has been furnished with walnut furnishing and photographs and clothing of the period (for more information call 712-732-3267). For the Christmas spirits visitors to Storm Lake will want to take in Santa's Castle, a historic walk down memory lane. Santa's Castle is housed in Storm Lake's first library building a historic Carnegie Library listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Santa's Castle is home to one of the largest displays of Christmas animated characters from the 1920's and 30's (for more information on Santa's Castle call 712-732-3780).

For those looking for a more artistic afternoon the Witter Gallery offers changing exhibits of art from paintings and drawings to sculpture. The Witter Gallery is located in the Storm Lake Public Library at 609 Cayuga Street (for more information call 712-732-3400).
