You can spend an afternoon exploring the antique shops and shopping centers of Nevada, Fort Scott Kansas, or El Dorado Springs, then stop in one of the restaurants for a fantastic meal. Dive into history at the Osage Village State Historic Site and Fort Scott National Historic Site, following the self-guided tour routes.
Right in camp, we offer activities like swimming in our swimming pool, horseshoes, and playing a round of mini golf. In the nearby area you can go bowling or play a round of 18 holes at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course, a facility that includes a putting green and lighted driving range. Spend an afternoon exploring the Bushwhacker Museum, taking the Nevada MO Victorian Tour, or learning about W.F. Norman, the nineteenth-century maker of tin ceiling and roofing products.
See the incredible tournament baseball field at Champion Diamonds, tour the Missouri Welding Institute, or go bird watching at the A A Busch Jr. Memorial Wetlands at Four Rivers. You can catch the dirt-track races at the Nevada Raceway or head to the Missouri Pecan Growers for a tasty snack or to find great gifts for friends and family. Our area hosts a number of fun festivals and events, from plays at the Fox Playhouse to the June ACRA-MRCA Sanctioned Professional Rodeo and Fireworks. Join us in June for our annual Bushwhacker Days, on July 4 for our phenomenal Fireworks Show, and in late September for the Missouri Osage Territory Muzzle Loaders Rendezvous.
