Enjoy the attractions of the Merced River and Yosemite Valley!

Yosemite National Park - El Capitan, Bridal Veil Falls -- the names evoke rugged beauty, towering cliffs, and the brilliant splash of waterfalls in the afternoon sun. Stunning Yosemite National Park is one of our country's most popular back-country destinations. Follow the charming Merced River along Highway 140 to the park, then spend the day exploring Half Dome, Glacier Point, and Yosemite Falls. You can look over a 3,000-foot outlook above Yosemite Valley, watch for wildflowers in the mist from the falls, or just enjoy a hike in the woods, watching for bears, deer, sequoia trees, and other residents of the park. You'll find more than 800 miles of hiking trails, plus thousands of lakes and streams.

Yosemite Valley Railroad - There's no better way to travel between Merced and Yosemite National Park than by train! Climb aboard and let the experienced engineers do the work while you sit back and admire the gorgeous landscapes of this Sierra wilderness. The railroad follows the scenic Merced River from the city of Merced to the town of El Portal, the gateway to Yosemite (located on the park's western side). Travel in style while you watch the dramatic scenery slip by. The railroad, which has been in operation since 1902, offers regular dining car services (breakfast, supper, and dinner). You can learn more about California's mining history as you ride aboard this comfortable railway.

Castle Air Museum - Located in Atwater California, this unique collection of antique and modern aircraft will take you back in time. See the forty-nine aircraft on display, including the 1992 Grumman F-14D Tomcat, the 1937 Douglas B-18, and other planes that served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, and present-day action. You'll find photos, statistics, and a written history about each plane, including the rare SR-71, B-24 and RB-36. The indoor museum, located in a converted barracks from WWII, holds displays about the Tuskegee Airmen, the Women Air Force Service Pilots, aircraft machine guns, and artifacts from World War I.

San Jose - Newly crowned as the tenth largest city in the U.S., San Jose is a modern city that's wrapped in culture. Sitting at the heart of Silicon Valley's high-tech industry, this blossoming city offers modern architecture, sunny skies, and fun attractions for the whole family. Take a tour of the Tech Museum of Innovation, enjoying the hands-on displays, or the San Jose Museum of Art. You can catch a play at the San Jose Repertory Theatre, hop aboard the rides at Paramount's Great America, or take yourself on a self-guided winery and tasting tour. You'll find the Museum and Planetarium in San Jose, historic displays, and the eerie Winchester Mystery House.
